72 year old Doris Adams of Smithville died Thursday at Saint Thomas Hospital. She was a seamstress, a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church of Pentecost, and an Avon representative for over 40 years. The funeral will be Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bobby Colvert will offciate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 4:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ophie Redmon Johnson; her husband, Tom Adams; and a brother, Willie Johnson. Survivors include five children and their spouses, David and Brenda Braswell of Smithville, Jerry and Carolyn Braswell of McMinnville, Randy and Deborah Braswell of Smithville, John and Maria Braswell of Antioch, and Lou Ann and Dickey Sanders of Smithville. Charles Donald “Don” Howard

61 year old Charles Donald “Don” Howard of Walling died Wednesday at his residence. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Spring Hill The Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m. Friday at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta. Survivors include his wife, Linda Humphrey Howard of Walling. A daughter, Nicole Farley and her husband Jason of Sparta. Two sons, Jeffery Howard and his wife Martha of Sparta and Bryan Howard and his wife Karen of Cookeville. Odell Hays Butterbaugh

91 year old Odell Hays Butterbaugh of Liberty died Tuesday at her residence. She was a DeKalb County native, a homemaker, and a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. James Bond and Ricky Scott will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and prior to the service Thursday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hub Sampson Butterbaugh; a son, Danny Butterbaugh; parents, Alton and Mary Lynam Hays; and brothers, Homer, Bright, and T. Hays. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Klasek of McMinnville. A son, Dave and his wife Vicky Butterbaugh of Cottage Home. Five grandchildren, Sherry and her husband Greg Pennington of McMinnville, Andy Klasek of McMinnville, Holly Clayborn of Cottage Home, Daniel and his wife Jennifer Butterbaugh of Cottage Home, and Joseph Butterbaugh of Cottage Home. 94 year old Mildred Burba Barney Burke of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Methodist in belief but attended the Dry Creek Baptist Church. Burke was also a member of the U.S. Air Force Officers Wives Club, and a phone operator. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Donald Owens will offciate. Burial will be at the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Bessie Sheets Burba; husbands, Oscar Barney and Billy Burke; sisters, Daisy Burba and Ocie Burnett; and a brother, Raymond Burba. Survivors include four children, Janet Sheets and her husband Les Gerhardt of Lampasas, Texas; Max R. and his wife Jewell Barney of Smithville; Karen Chambliss of Malabar, Florida; and Tom D. and his wife Lois Barney of Sandies Park, New Mexico. 65 year old Chester Rick Estes of Smithville died Tuesday at Alive Hospice at Saint Thomas Hospital. He was a retired nurseryman and a Pentecostal. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Glenn Chapman and Robert Presley will officiate and burial will be in the Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Eula Mae Thomas Estes; his wife, Henrietta Estes; two sons, Stevie Joe and Ronald Estes; three brothers, George, Alfred, and Harold Estes; and two sisters, Dorothy Underwood and Annie Bell Estes. Survivors include one son, James and his wife Joann Estes; his Fiance, Darlene Summers; two sons, Timmy and his wife Dorothy Summers and Jimmy Summers; and one daughter, Patty and her husband Ricky Warner all of Smithville. 58 year old Ronnie Anderson of Watertown, a retired police officer, died Tuesday at UMC Hospital in Lebanon. He was born in Kentucky, and was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Philadelphia Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Jason Lohorn will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Flem Anderson; a sister, Tammy Spencer; grandparents, John and Jewell Neal and Jeff and Cordie B. 85 year old Virgin George Harrell of Smithville died Thursday at NHC Healthcare Center. Harrell was a retired nurse and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Taylor and Winnie Summers Taylor.
