33 year old Christopher Jason Stanley of Dowelltown died Tuesday at the emergency room of DeKalb Community Hospital. He attended the Real Life Community Church and was a store manager of the Family Dollar in Woodbury. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Don Davidson and E.A. Colvin will officiate and burial will be in the Braswell Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Haskell and Lydia Braswell and his paternal grandparents, Claude and Ailene Stanley. He is survived by his children, William Anthony and Victoria Elaine Stanley of Crossville. His mother and step-father, Peggy and John Caldwell of Dowelltown. His father and step-mother, Howard and Brenda Stanley of Smithville. A sister, Donna and her husband Jerry Byrd of Dowelltown. An aunt, Robbie Johnson of Smithville. A niece, Heather and her husband Arnold Bean of Dowelltown. A nephew, Jeremy Byrd of Nashville. A great nephew, Aydan Bean. J.B. Hale

57 year old J.B. Hale of Alexandria died Wednesday at his residence. He was a DeKalb County native and a retired employee of Vought Aerostructures. Hale was also a member of the Friendship The Baptist Church at Rock Island, a graduate of Watertown High School, and he attended Cumberland University. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Roger Grisham and Steve Breedlove will officiate and burial will be in the Jones Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Thursday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brown and Christine Murphy Hale. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Hale; a son, Chad and his wife Melissa Hale and their two children of Smithville; a daughter, Amanda and her husband Kevin Grisham and their son of Lebanon; and two children, Stephanie Coffee and Aaron Hale by a previous marriage. Mary Louise Collins

76 year old Mary Louise Collins of Smithville died Monday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. A memorial service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Gregory’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Theresa Powell; a brother, Carl Alton Powell; and a niece, Caroline Powell. Survivors include her husband, Joe M. Collins of Smithville. A daughter, Donna Ashburn of Smithville. A son, Kenny Hicks of Smithville. Two grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive along with two sisters, Peggy and her husband Van Revis of Clarksville and Linda and her husband Howard Hams of Clarksville. One brother, John Powell of Clarksville. Nine nieces and nephews also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Hettie Louise King

72 year old Hettie Louise King of Woodbury died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. She worked at Lou’s Upholstery and was a Pentecostal. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Thyatira Cemetery in Cannon County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Trannie King. Survivors include two daughters, Judy and her husband Joseph Rodriguez of Bradyville and Joyce and her husband Welsey Frazier of Smithville. One son, John Hatfield of McMinnville. Ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two brothers, Tom King and Joe King both of Michigan. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Chad Jonathon Reeder

19 year old Chad Jonathon Reeder of Liberty died Friday in Cannon County. The funeral will be at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home on Monday at 1:00 pm with Michael Farr officiating. Burial will be in the Blackford Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm and Monday from 9:00am til time of service at 1:00pm. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ray Reeder. Survivors include his father, Donald Reeder of Liberty. His mother, Sharlet Carioscia of Alexandria. Two brothers, Nick Reeder of Alexandria and Joey Carioscia of McMinnville.His paternal grandmother, Bertie Ruth Reeder of Smithville. His maternal grandparents, Tim and Joann Bradford of Smithville. Hubert Lee Whitworth

94 year old Hubert Lee Whitworth of McMinnville died Friday at his daughter’s residence. Born in Lincoln County, he was a retired head produce clerk with Kroger, a former McMinnville City Alderman, and a member of the Rolling Acres Brethren in Christ Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Rosie Calpurine Koonce Whitworth; his wife, Odie R’Della Whitworth; a daughter, Carolyn Mayfield; a son, Hubert Lynn Whitworth; brothers, Alton, Lester, J.W. and Curtis Whitworth; and a sister, Olivia Slayton. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Ralph Tucker, Ernest Weber, and William McCormick will officiate and burial will be in the Shellsford Cemetery. 94 year old Carrie Inez Bass of Alexandria died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a nurse and a Methodist. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dowell Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Cora Bates Tubbs; her husband Rhome Bass; and a son, Charles David Bass. Survivors include a daughter, Billie McKinley of Carthage. Seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. 96 year old Gertie Lou Stephens of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church and a retired shirt factory worker. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Donald Owens will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Eller Braswell; her husband, Lucious Stephens; a son, Billy Brice Stephens; and a sister, Mable Braswell. 80 year old Henry Frank Adcock of Smithville died Tuesday at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was a retired Postal Service worker and a Jehovah’s Witness. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee and Lizzie Robinson Adcock. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lydia Adcock of Smithville. A brother, Odie Adcock of Nashville. A sister, Veda Clark of Sparta and several nieces and nephews. 80 year old Lorene Driver of Alexandria died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a DeKalb County native. a homemaker, and a member of the West Main Baptist Church. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Early and Valley Tramel Webster; two brothers, Clarence Webster and John Webster; and two sisters, Bettie Johnson and Lealett Agee. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Driver of Alexandria. A daughter, Betty Sue Vaughn of Smithville.
