63 year old Ruby Nell Ferrell of Smithville died Friday at her residence. She was a retired shirt factory worker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Danny Bandy will officiate and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Nell Braswell Saylors and a brother, James O. Saylors. Survivors include her husband Taft Ferrell of Smithville; a brother, Clarence Arbon Saylors of Smithville. Two sisters, Joyce Farless of McMinnville and Glema King of Beersheba Springs. 62 year old Patti C. Neal McDaniel of Indianapolis died Wednesday. She was born in Smithville to the late Jim and Ruth Neal. She was a homemaker and a member of the Garfield Park Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Fountain Square Mortuary in Indianapolis, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the New Crown Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Jack McDaniel. Sons, Curtis Murphy; Ricky and his wife Melissa Murphy; and Calvin and his wife Angel Murphy. 70 year old Willie “Jay” Thomas of Dowelltown died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. He was a farmer and a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ada Martin Thomas; two brothers, Willie Eugene Thomas and James E. Thomas; and a sister, Bertha Bennett. Survivors include three brothers, Joe Thomason of Sweetwater and Alfred and Willie Thomas both of Smithville. Three sisters, Retha Frazier of Woodbury, Minnie Murphy of Smithville, and Lou Verna Woodruff of West Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 83 year old O.D. Keaton of Old Hickory died Wednesday. He was a member and deacon of the Dowelltown Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran, an avid HAM radio operator, and a lifetime member of the American Radio Relay League. Keaton was also Chief Chemist for the Water Quality Control Division of the State of Tennessee. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Bond Memorial Chapel in Mount Juliet. Wayne Malone will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Liberty with full military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service at Bond Memorial Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Alma Tramel Keaton; his wife, Annie John Keaton; and a son, Hugh Gordon Keaton. Survivors include his children, David Keaton of Fort Worth, Texas; Loretta and her husband Donnie Walker and Brian and his wife Kathy Joann Keaton all of Old Hickory. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Agnes Buckner Pedigo; two sisters, Frances Bandy and Carrie Inez Pedigo; and four brothers, Aaron, Ed, Norville, and Elsie Pedigo. 86 year old John Paul Vandagriff of Alexandria died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. 82 year old O.M. Jackson of Sparta died Tuesday at the Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was a member of the Peeled Chestnut United Methodist Church and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Jackson was also a retired carpenter, farmer, and a construction worker. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Peeled Chestnut United Methodist Church. Tommy Davis and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 86 year old Solon Lee Taylor of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church, and he was retired from Val-Dor Shirt Factory in Smithville. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Sam Odom and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mai Tramel Taylor; his parents, Martin and Novie Taylor; brothers, Albert and James Taylor; sisters, Carnell Keith and Elizabeth Young; a granddaughter, Deanna Taylor and a great granddaughter, Olivia Taylor. 49 year old Morris Steven Allen of Liberty died Saturday at Gateway Medical Center. He was disabled and a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be Wednesday at noon at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Shane Smith and Perry Clayton will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. He is survived by his wife, Judith Goodwin Allen of Liberty. His parents, John and Geneva Allen of Lafayette. Six children, Shawn and his wife Tiffany Allen and their children Hannah and C.J. of Smithville; Jennifer and her husband Benito Castroena and their children MacKenzie, Drew, and Jaeleigh of Smithville; Sammy and his wife Sonja Allen and their children Kobe, Jarrica, Dante, Josh, Matthew, Elijah, Eliza, and Dakota of Coalmont; Kim Pack and children, Misty and her husband Kirk Wilson and Brian Pack of Smithville; Jeff and his wife Nikki Goodwin and children, Gunnison, Garrison, and Grace Ann of Nashville; Kathy and her husband Dewayne Jacobs and children Tavia and MaKayla Easterwood of Alabama.
