85 year old Ruby Jean Young of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Smithville Church of Christ. The funeral will be Thursday at 12:00 noon at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at noon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bailey and Irene Medlin Medley; a daughter, Gloria Jean Young; and a brother, Billy Medley. Survivors include her husband, James F. Young; a daughter, Angie and her husband Jeff Truelove of Franklin; a son, James D. and his wife Sherry Young of Springfield. Four grandchildren, Chris and Laura Young of Lebanon, Kelly and David White of South Carolina, Matt Young of Seymour, and Casey Truelove of California. Larry Eugene Rhoady, Jr.

29 year old Larry Eugene Rhoady, Jr. of Smithville died Monday at his residence. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran, having served in Iraq. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Gath Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Beverly Duffee. Survivors include two children, Austin Rhoady of Peatone, Illinois and Lila Kate Rhoady of Georgia. His mother, Maureen Mercer and her husband Steve of Sawyer, Michigan. His father, Larry Eugene, Sr. and his wife, Michelle Rhoady of Smithville. Sisters and brothers, Melissa Nicole Rhoady of Smithville, Jacob Rhoady, and Jenna Kate Rhoady both of Indiana, Nicholas Mercer, Kacie Mercer, and Benjamin Mercer all of Sawyer, Michigan. Step-brothers and step-sisters, Kristy Barber of Steger, Illinois, Curtis Lloyd and Tamra Lloyd both of Smithville, and James Randolph of McMinnville. John Ralph Wood

93 year old John Ralph Wood of Smithville died Saturday at his residence. He was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church and a retired employee of the City of Smithville as a Water Plant Operator. A graveside service and burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Mark Bass will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Eugene and Sarah Emaline Southern Wood; two sisters; and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Wood of Smithville. One son, Jeff Wood of Mount Juliet, and a nephew, L.B. Wood of Poteau, Oklahoma. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

56 year old Danny Lee Adcock of Smithville died Thursday at Centennial Medical Center. He was a disabled veteran, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, a member of the VFW and Phoenix Jaycees’s, and he attended the Real Life Community Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Don Davidson and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Vistation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Haston Adcock and a brother, Ronald Adcock. 37 year old Kimberly Ann Roller of Rock Island died Wednesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was a secretary at Rocky River Stone. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Life United Pentecostal Church. Dewayne Cornelius will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Bud and Sandra Sue Sexton Eldridge. She is survived by a daughter, Samantha Roller of Smithville. One son, Dakota Nicholas of Rock Island. Four sisters, Vickie Ramsey and Linda Rowland of Detroit, Michigan, Ronda Roberts of Bay, Arkansas and Jacqueline Ginter of Taylor, Michigan. 89 year old Lydia Mai Colwell died Monday at NHC. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nash Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Love Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Adcock Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toy Brown Colwell; her parents, Almer and Altie Massy Williams; three sons, James, Dallas, and Floyd Colwell; and a granddaughter, Crystal Gail Colwell. Survivors include six sons, John B. 50 year old Lee Alton Reeder of Smithville died Sunday at the residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. He was a Presbyterian. The funeral will be Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Ben Farr will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. He is survived by two sons, Christopher and Wesley Reeder both of Florida. His mother, Shirley Fisher and his father, J. Alton Reeder both of Smithville. Two sisters, Marlann and her husband Jim Reynolds of Hermitage, Peggy and her husband Oscar Hendrix of Smithville. 57 year old Linda Joyce Spivey of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. She was a Baptist and a nurse at Riverpark Hospital in McMinnville. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in the Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Georgia Morgan Hale and a brother, David Thomas. 26 year old Laura Elizabeth France of Alexandria died Thursday at her residence. France was born in El Salvador. She was a homemaker and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Lebanon. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Buford Bain will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria. Visitation will be from noon until the service on Sunday. She is survived by her husband, Roy Allen France of Alexandria. 84 year old James Paul Taylor of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired welder, and he attended the Mount Herman Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. David Weeks, Martha Wilks, and Dave Carden will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Martin and Movie Mason Yates Taylor; his first and second wives, Earlene Taylor and Roberta Taylor; sisters, Carnell Keith and Elizabeth Young; and a brother, Albert Taylor.
