Arthur Allen Rhoades

69 year old Arthur Allen Rhoades of Alexandria died Wednesday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Rhoades was also a home health customer service representative. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Social Club and he attended Sunbury, Pennsylvania high school where he graduated in 1965. A graveside service will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents; Warren Allen Rhoades and Shirley Anita Dane; a sister, Kay Anita Ray; and a brother, Paul J. Herin Jr. Rhoades is survived by a daughter, Cathy Russell of Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Granddaughters, Courtney Russell and Heather Russell-Sprenkel both of Shamokin, Pennsylvania. Aunt, Nellie Nadzon. Nieces, Tara Herin Young, Jennifer Herin Staszak, Tracy Herin, and Shirley M. Ray of Alexandria. Dennis Calvin Tramel

87 year old Dennis Calvin Tramel of Smithville died Monday at NHC Healthcare Center. He was a Baptist, Mason, and a US Army Veteran in the Korean Conflict. Tramel was also a Freewill Baptist Minister and he was retired from Southeastern Brake & Clutch Company. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Paul Tramel will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Julie Ann Arnold Tramel; his wife, Oma Taylor Tramel; seven sisters, Nancy Nokes, Beatrice Bryant, Velma Reece, Lena Vann, Ethel Ashford, Elrissa Whitlock Webb, and Myrtle Smith. Four brothers, James, Hack, Ernest and Walter Tramel. He is survived by three sons, Calvin Ray and Darlene Tramel, Ricky Tramel, and Roy and Marla Tramel all of Smithville. Five grandchildren, Kathy and Henry Colwell of Rock Island, C.J. & Tabby Tramel, Medeana and Arlin Byford, Joshua Tramel, and Myra and Blake Reffue all of Smithville. Eight great grandchildren, Heather and Patrick Colwell of Rock Island, James, Isaiah and Silas Tramel, Jada and Riley Palmer, and Lilly Reffue all of Smithville. Sarah Ophaline Judkins

Sarah Ophaline Judkins age 96 of McMinnville and a native of DeKalb County, passed away Friday night, January 6, 2017 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville. She was born January 10, 1920 to her parents, the late Hershel and Martha Martin Judkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Jim A. Judkins; 1 son, Gene Edward Judkins; 2 daughters, Carol Herman and Aladean Judkins; step-son, James Calvin Knowles. She was a Primitive Baptist and a homemaker. Survivors include 2 sons, Clyde (Pauline) Judkins and Grady (Nina) Judkins both of McMinnville; 4 step-daughters, Linda (Steve) Hale, Anita (Eddie) Moore, Stella Dyer and Faye Cole all of Smithville; 3 step-sons, Gerald (Altie) Knowles, Melvin Knowles and Donald (Donna Kay) Knowles all of Smithville; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Eld. Paul Violet and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Keltonburg Cemetery. Stella Loretta Bounds Young

Mrs. Stella Loretta Bounds Young age 87 of McMinnville, TN died Saturday, January 07, 2017, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital, in McMinnville TN. She was born November 27, 1929, in Warren Co., TN, was a homemaker, and a member of McMinnville Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by parents James and Jalie Mae Dodson Bounds, her husband Walter Wood Young, twin sons Terry Lee Young and Jerry Lynn Young, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Survivors include son Gary Walter Young, daughter Wanda Smith, daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Kelly Basham, daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Roger Taylor, son Ronald Young all of McMinnville, step daughters Waltyne Cantrell and Judy (Jerry) Adams, 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Jerry Hennessee will officiate. Interment will follow at Webb Cemetery. The Young Family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

66 year old Cathy Oneida Parker of Sparta died Sunday at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Herbie Leftwich and Donnie Agee will officiate and burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Nettie Williams Alcorn; sisters, Frances Woods, Julana Martin, and Janie Bearbaum. Phyllis was born August 8, 1925 to her parents the late Emory and Ruth Corrington Sharp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth VanDyne; 1 daughter, Donna Bell; grandson, Jesse VanDyne; and 2 brothers, Jack and James Sharp. Ms. VanDyne was a homemaker. She is survived by 3 children, Sharon VanDyne of Smithville, Leann Walker of Pegram and Philip Gotro of Smithville; 13 grandchildren, Timothy VanDyne, Todd VanDyne, Danny VanDyne, Christine VanDyne, Steven VanDyne, Penny VanDyne, Teri Rowe, Kathy Carter, Brittney Bell, Jennifer Hitchcock, Taylor Walker, Kelli Bess and Scott Bess; several great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Delores Tripp of Ithaca, New York. Georgie Rhea Willoughby

Mrs. Georgie Rhea Willoughby, age 80, of Temperance Hall, TN, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the Saint Thomas Dekalb Hospital.
Mrs. Willoughby was born September 15, 1935, the daughter of the late Elmer Lee Ellis and Mary Athelene Curtis. She married Johnsie B. Willoughby and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1983. Mrs. Willoughby was also preceded in death by Daughter-in-Law; Sandra Witty Willoughby and Sister; Jeanette Fields. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church on Dale Ridge.
Mrs. Willoughby is survived by Sons; John Lee Willoughby of Alexandria, TN, and Phillip (Melinda) Willoughby of Smithville, TN. Grandchildren; Johnathon (Rena) Willoughby, Jessie (Jeannie) Willoughby, Katie Willoughby, Josh (Erin) Turner, Jessica (Lynus) Martin, Jennifer (Robbie) Sykes, Lacey (Russ) Williams, and Seth Willoughby. Fifteen Great grandchildren; Lydia and Jathan Willoughby; Jesse, Jake, and Maddie Wilson; Chloe, Alley, and Kenna Sykes; Aidan and Liam Turner; Keegan, Kale, and Krew Martin; and Harper and Hadley Williams. Brother; Junior (Sue) Ellis and Sister; Mildred Clayborn also survive.

81 year old Velma Bell Hutchings of McMinnville died Saturday at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville of an extended illness. She was a retired employee of Kingston Timer and a member of the Bluff Springs Church of Christ. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of High Funeral Home in McMinnville. Teddy Jones will officiate and burial will be in the Webb Cemetery at Bluff Springs in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Delia Curtis Moffitt.
