Paul Bradley Blankenship

78 year old Paul Bradley Blankenship of Smithville (Belk Community) died Thursday at his residence. He was founder and former owner of Bradley Printing, and a longtime employee of the Smithville Review. He was also a member of the Gideon’s and was a deacon of the New Union The Baptist Church since 1962 and a member for 66 years. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 pm. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Darrell Cantrell, Kenneth Brown, and Anthony Pelham will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Mary Rankhorn Blankenship; a brother, Elzie Blankenship; and three sisters, Delma Wright, Nannie Wright, and Lola Griffin. Helen Murphy Hale

87 year old Helen Murphy Hale of Chattanooga died Monday. She was born in DeKalb County to the late Frank M. and Dovie Rose O’Conner Murphy. She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church and an active member of the Challenger Sunday School Class. She also attended Signal Center Adult Day Care and was an Avon representaive for over 40 years. She was a former member of the O.E.S. Hale was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Howard Hale, and their son, Mackey Hale. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Chattanooga. John Collins, Luther Eslinger, and Billy Dean will officiate and entombment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens-South. 41 year old Paul David Scott of Sparta died Wednesday at the White County Hospital. He was a student and a member of the Apostolic Arc. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Scott and his maternal grandparents, Jay and Sinda Hutchings. Survivors include his wife, Jill Savage Scott of Sparta. Myrtle L. Jackson

84 year old Myrtle L. Jackson of Indiana died Saturday at a Bloomington Hospital in Indiana. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Edward Todd will officiate and burial will be in the Baird Cemetery in Smith County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Alice Clemmons Jones; her husband, Will Allen Jackson; and a daughter, Dorothy Hawkins. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Faye and Howard Wallace, Betty and Elmer Goolsby, and Linda Madewell of Indiana. Jackie Wayne Bandy

54 year old Jackie Wayne Bandy of McMinnville died Tuesday at his home. He was in the Tennessee Army National Guard, 278th ACR with 22 years of active service prior to retiring as Sergeant First Class. The funeral will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the Chapel of Pikeville Funeral Home. Burial will be in the T.Y. Swafford Cemetery with full military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Tennessee Army National Guard and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. James Raymond Goff, infant son of Jerry and Rhonda Evans Goff of Smithville died Wednesday at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Goff family cemetery in the Austin Bottom community of DeKalb County. Ricky Arnold will officiate. Family and friends will leave the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to go to the cemetery for the service at 10:00 a.m. There will be no visitation. 87 year old Hoytte Venson Griffith of Smithville died Wednesday at his residence. He was a farmer, member of the Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Charles “Buddy” Pope and Greg Mullis will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 76 year old Lois Williams of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Allen’s Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired factory worker. 45 year old Mr. Ou Chen of Palm Coast, Florida and formerly of Liberty died Sunday at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona, Florida. He was a Christian and owner of the China American Garden Restaurant in Florida. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Liberty United Methodist Church. 52 year old Joann C. Braswell of Smithville died Sunday at her residence. She was a Baptist and a co-owner of J & J Game Room.
