77 year old Ray Richardson of Smithville died Monday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. The body is at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Arrangements are incomplete.

Raymond Richardson

77 year old Raymond D. Richardson of Holiday Haven Road died Monday at NHC Healthcare Center of an extended illness. He was self-employed and a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Paul Stringer will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Jane Conner Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Richardson of Smithville. Four sons, Anthony, Raymond, Clifford, and Phillip Richardson all of Lakeland, Florida. One daughter, Carol Cooke of Georgia. A step-daughter, Dianne and her husband Buddy Emberton of Smithville. Eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one step great grandson. Two brothers, Cleston Eugene Richardson of Lakeland, Florida and John Wesley Richardson of Gade City, Florida. Two sisters, Christine Robinson and Lorene Combee both of Florida. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Howard Lloyd Gunter

80 year old Howard Lloyd Gunter of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a Mason, and a retired employee of Genesco. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church where he was a member. Royce Martin and Wilson Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at which time the body will be taken to the church for the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Dovie Lee Blair Gunter and sisters, Mozell Cory, Odie Basham, Polly Simons, and Jimmie Shuler. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Norma Phillips Gunter of Smithville. Three children, Dan and his wife Kristen Gunter of Lakeland, Florida; Phillip and his wife Karen Gunter of Valdosta, Georgia, and Sharon and her husband Harold Rader of Murfreesboro. Grandchildren, Leah Love and her husband Eric Orsbon, Monica and her husband Chris Dickens, Alex Rader, Matt Gunter, and Danielle Chambers. Great grandchild, Bryce Dickens. Sisters, Betty and her husband J.T. Hale of McMinnville, Dorcas and her husband Larry Medley of McMinnville, Ruth Payne of Jacksonville, Florida; and Naomi Sheppard of Jacksonville, Florida. Sisters-in-law, Mary Cantrell of Smithville, Fatama Walker of McMinnville, and Jane Eller of Smithville. A brother-in-law, Bill Phillips of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to the Bethel Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Gunter, in lieu of flowers.

Howard Gunter

80 year old Howard Gunter of Smithville died Saturday morning at the emergency room of DeKalb Community Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Fannie Mullican

88 year old Fannie Mullican of Dowelltown died Tuesday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Snow Hill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delton and Mary Parlee Tramel; her husband, Alvie Mullican; and a brother, Roscoe Tramel. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Betty Jane Mullican; one grandson, Donald and his wife Cynthia Mullican; two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Matthew Mullican all of Lebanon. One sister-in-law, Elsie Tramel of Alexandria and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

Toney Lamberson

Toney Lamberson of Temperance Hall died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The body is at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home where the funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Billy Hale and Serita Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Gordonsville Cemetery. The Lamberson family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He is survived by his wife Hazel Cripps Lamberson of Temperance Hall. A son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Linda Lamberson of Temperance Hall. Two sisters-in-law, Martha Lee Lamberson of Defeated, Tennessee and Georgia Lamberson of Watertown. The Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Frances Joyce Redmon

Frances Joyce Redmon died Wednesday morning at her residence. She is survived by her husband,Reed Redmon. The funeral arrangements are incomplete. A complete list of survivors and funeral arrangements will be announced later by DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Clyde C. Winters

100 year old Clyde C. Winters of McMinnville died Wednesday at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville after an extended illness.
He moved to McMinnville in 1938 when he took the job of manager of the Tennessee Electric Power Company, later to become known in 1939 as McMinnville Electric System. He served as general superintendent until his retirement in 1973. A member of the Church of Christ, he was a deacon at Central in McMinnville before becoming one of the founding trustees of Westwood Church of Christ where he served as elder for 30 years. He was also a Mason. The son of James LaFayette and Rosa Caroline Johnson Winters, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Elizabeth Webb Winters in 2002; a son, Clyde C. Winters Jr.; son-in-law, M.L. (Sam) Scott; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by daughter, Carol Rose Winters Scott of McMinnville; granddaughter and husband, Elizabeth Scott and John Randall Damron of Pittsburgh, Pa.; great-granddaughters and spouse, Laura Elizabeth Damron and Aleksandr Zasedatelev of McMinnville and Emily Rose Damron of Pittsburgh; brother, James L. Winters Jr. of Kingston.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with James Vandiver and Harold Jones officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m.Wednesday and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at High’s.

Hilda Lucille Granstaff

91 year old Hilda Lucille Granstaff of Lebanon died Tuesday at her residence. She was born in Nashville and was retired from Lebanon Woolen Mills. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church. Terry Fesler and Ronnie Smith will officiate and burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Howard Granstaff; a grandson, Steven Granstaff; granddaughters, Trena Green and Tracy Smith; parents, Carter and Macon Foutch Davenport; and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include six children, J.B. and his wife Mary Eleanor Granstaff of Alexandria, Louise and her husband Henry Richstine of Old Town, Florida, Clifton and his wife Frances Granstaff of Brush Creek, Willie Jo and her husband William Floyd Reynolds of Liberty, Glenda and her husband William Tom Effler of Murfreesboro, and Paul David and his wife Mary Granstaff of Lebanon. Thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Two sisters, Helen and her husband Carlos Warden of Alexandria and Earlene and her husband Garland Eastes of Gordonsville. Two brothers, Glen and his wife Lucille Davenport of Liberty and Clarence T. and his wife Jimmie Davenport of Liberty.
