66 year old Bobby “Bob” Wayne Jones of Smithville died Monday at Vanderbilt Hospital. He was a truck driver for the Batesville Casket Company and a member of the Covenant Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Major and Lucille Williamson Jones and a brother, Benny Jones. Survivors include his wife, Betty Cope Jones of Smithville. Five daughters, Toni Cassidy and Terri Carol Hobb both of Ohio, Chris of McMinnville, Vicky Lee of Ohio, and Suzanne and her husband Dickie Wiliams of Dowelltown. Three sons, Mike Jones of Ohio, Mark Jones of McMinnville,and Jim and his wife Marl Ann Reynolds of Hermitage. Twenty two grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. Two brothers, Carl and his wife Opal Jones of Woodbury and Buddy and his wife Phyllis Jones of McMinnville. One sister, Ann Boren of McMinnville. Gordon Paton Adcock
92 year old Gordon Paton Adcock of the Green Hill Community died Tuesday at Rain Tree Manor of an extended illness. He was a DeKalb County native, a nurseryman and a Baptist. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home in McMinnville. Wendell Judkins will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Paton Adcock and Roberta Russell Adcock; wife, Thelma Willene Adcock; a son, Raymond Morris Adcock; brothers, Woodrow Adcock, Bob West, and Rich West; and sisters, Hallie Haley, Gladys Davis, and Nannie Cantrell. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Mac Adcock of the Green Hill Community; a daughter-in-law, Sue Adcock of Green Hill; A sister, Barbara Jo Foster of McMinnville. 67 year old Bob Jones died Monday afternoon at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He was a resident of the Keltonburg Community. The body is at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Arrangements are incomplete.

97 year old Myrtle Johnson of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Brethren In Christ. The funeral will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. John Wilson will officiate and burial will be in the Adcock Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Amanda Murray Pedigo; her husband, Joe Cephus Johnson; and two sons, Glen Nelson Johnson and Cecil Allen Johnson. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Rayburn Bratcher of McMinnville and Winnie and Bill Petty of Smithville. One son, J.E. Johnson of Smithville. 55 year old Lester Dewane Frazier of Liberty died Saturday night at his residence. He was an employee of the DeKalb County Highway Department. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Congregational Methodist Church where he was a member. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Douglas and Lera Altie Ashburn Frazier and three brothers, Azro, Henry, and Norman Frazier. Survivors include his wife, Robbie Joan Frazier of Liberty. Two sons, Jamie Frazier of Liberty and Donnie and his wife Kelly Frazier of Dowelltown. One daughter, Katie Beth Frazier of Liberty. One granddaughter, Tiffany Frazier. Four grandsons, Rob, Dustin, Austin, and Jacob Frazier. Four sisters, Hazel Frazier and Virginia Hendrixson of Liberty, Neodia Cantrell and Marie Bratcher of Smithville. Four brothers, Rosco Frazier of Dowelltown, Garlon and James Douglas Frazier, Jr of Liberty, and Leo Frazier of Georgia. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. 91 year old Lottie C. Cubbins of Smithville and a long time resident of the Dismal Community died Saturday of an extended illness at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Fullers Chapel United Methodist Church and worked at the Smithville Garment Factory for over 25 years. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Donald Owens and Perry Clayton will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dalton Cubbins; her parents, Joe and Ocie Neal Turner; sisters, Belle Caldwell and Willie Jo Midgett; a son, Joe Allen Cubbins; a granddaughter, Gelonda Cubbins; and brothers, John Robert and James Turner. Survivors include two daughters, Faye and her husband Joe Taylor of Lebanon and Linda and her husband Randy Tramel of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Jennifer Woodcock of Lebanon, Pam Higgins of Dickson, Gene Taylor of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Greg Tramel of Smithville, Jeff Tramel of Murfreesboro, and Melissa Gee of Athens, Alabama. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clessie Smith and Meda Merriman Smith and two brothers, Nolan and Horace Smith. Survivors include two brothers, Marvin and his wife Agnes Smith of Murfreesboro and Melvin and his wife Betty Smith of Woodbury. 77 year old Christine Cantrell of the Keltonburg Community died Wednesday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was a housewife and a member of the Keltonburg United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Keltonburg Methodist Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Elsie Patton Neely; two sisters, Thelma Cope and Dorothy Jean Raymond Adcock. Survivors include her husband Bernice Cantrell; one daughter, Sherree and her husband Brett Curtis; two sons, Michael and his wife Betty Cantrell and Douglas and his wife Lynn Cantrell all of Smithville. Eight grandchildren, Anthony, Tony, Corey, and Chad Cantrell, Brent Turner, and Courtney and Allison Curtis all of Smithville, and Tonya Moore of Murfreesboro. 76 year old Chester Hendrixson of Dowelltown died Sunday of an extended illness at his residence. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, an auto mechanic, and a farmer. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow with Military Honors at DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Callie Bain Hendrixson. Survivors include two children, Debbie and her husband Jim Huddleston of Smyrna and Chris and his wife Jennifer Hendrixson of Dowelltown. Five grandchildren, Brittany, Stephanie, Emily, Cristin, and Ashley. One sister, Ione Ellis of Dowelltown and companion Sharon Hindsley of Dowelltown. 93 year old Winnie Ola Haley of Smithville died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and former owner of the Dairy Bell Restaurant. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Abraham and Dossie Lee Adcock Young; her husband, George Elton Haley; four brothers, Greg, George, Orvin, and Bill Young; and two sisters, Rosha Henderson and Sirtie Orrick. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wilburn and Bev Haley of Metamora, Michigan and Charles and Debra Haley of Oxford, Michigan. Two daughters and sons-in-law, Geneva and Gordon DeLandsheer of Smithville and Linda and Harry Cantrell of Gallatin. One brother and sister-in-law, J.T. and Mable Young of Smithville.
