Barbara Jo Barrett

Barbara Jo Barrett age 68 of Watertown, died Thursday morning, Aug. 13, 2015 at her residence. Born in Dekalb County, she was the daughter of the late Lassie Mai Driver Pedigo and Elmo Pedigo. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Bratten Barrett on Jan. 2, 2010 and by a brother, Carl Pedigo. She was a member of Round Lick Baptist Church and a retired garment factory employee. Barbara is survived by her children, Bratten (Carol) Barrett of Hermitage, Tim Barrett of Watertown and Kim (Gilliam) Vastola of Watertown; grandchildren, Bethany and Caleb Barrett, Tyler and Gage Vastola; sister, Wanda (Richard) Harris of Lebanon; brothers, Leroy (Donna) Pedigo of Nashville and Jerry (Susan) Pedigo of Crossville; 6 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Round Lick Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Denton officiating. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown and 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the church. Pallbearers, Bryan Pedigo, Robert Driver, Dakota, Tyler and Marcus Grandstaff, Gerald Lamberson. Honorary pallbearers, the Mary and Martha Sunday School Class at Round Lick Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Barbara Barrett Children’s and Youth Scholarship Fund for Church Camps. Memorials will be accepted at Wilson Bank & Trust or at the funeral home. Gracie Nell Evans

Gracie Nell Evans age 91 of Dowelltown, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at NHC HealthCare Center. She was born March 2, 1924 to her parents, the late Thomas and America Adcock Luna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Evans, 2 sisters, Jessie Knowles and Mary Pinegar and 3 brothers, Elijah, Herb and Zeb Luna. Mrs. Gracie was a Baptist and a retired shirt factory worker. She is survived by 1 sister, Nannie Gamble of South Pittsburg, TN; 6 nieces, Frances (Larry) Johnson of Dowelltown, Lois (Jimmy) Davis of Smithville, Betty (Charles) Atnip of Smithville, Ruth (Ronnie) Hobbs of Smithville, Kay Henegar of South Pittsburg, TN, and Doris (Rick) Chapman of Rossville, GA; 2 nephews, Kenneth (Freda) Pinegar of Smithville and Bill (Nancy) Luna of Noblesville, IN; 1 step-grandson, Richard (Kim) Young of Smithville; sister-in-law, Willene Luna of Inverness, FL; several great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2:PM Thursday, August 13, 2015 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bobby Thomason officiating and interment to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 92 year old Irene (Poss) Davis of Lebanon died Tuesday at Kindred Healthcare Center in Carthage. She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal. Visitation will be Thursday from 1- 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Davis; father of her children, Herbert Poss; parents, Duke and Nancy Delma Cantrell; two sons, Herbert, Jr. and Lee Roy Poss; two grandchildren, Deloris Redmon and Roger Poss; four brothers, Lee Duke and Felix Cantrell and Herman and Hobert Barnes; six sisters, Reba Jo Cantrell; Nadine Luna, Ruby McCormick, Jeanette Rogers, Inez Crouch, and JoAnne Ferrell. Survivors include two sons, Larry and wife Mary Phillips of Paris, Tennessee and Gary and wife Cecilia Phillips of Florida. Four daughters, Treva Wade and Eva Ferebee both of Lebanon, Patricia Perrien of Georgia, and Shala Walker of Smithville. Twenty grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. One sister, Judy Hammock of McMinnville. Danny Williams

68 year old Danny Williams of Hartsville died Wednesday, August 5 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. He was an RN at the VA Hospital in Nashville and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was of the Methodist faith. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Randall Teat and Ralph Vaughn will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Doyal Chester Williams and Gladys Smith Williams Curtis and his step-father, Warren B. Curtis. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Willa Dean Givens Williams of Hartsville. Three children, Ivie Williams Pulliam of Mississippi, Ashley and husband John Hearn of Louisiana, and Andy and wife Colby Williams of Mississippi. One step-son, Jason and wife Leanne Cook of Bethpage. Seven grandchildren and one step-grandchild. A sister, June and husband Ralph Vaughn of Murfreesboro.
