56 year old Larry L. Chapman, Jr. of McMinnville died Wednesday at his residence. He was a member of the Kingdom of Jesus Church and he worked for the ACE Fencing Company. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom of Jesus Church. Glen Chapman will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom of Jesus Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Chapman, Sr. and Betty Geraldine King. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Shelia Chapman of McMinnville. One daughter, Angel Chapman and a son, Nicholas Chapman both of North Carolina. Two step-children, Brenda and Charlie Tramel of Dowelltown and Heather Musick of Nashville. Ten grandchildren. Two brothers, Jimmy Chapman of Smithville and Glenn and Kimberly Chapman of McMinnville. Two sisters, Debbie and Mike Sloan of North Carolina and Linda Johnson of McMinnville. 81 year old Arvid Turner of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a Baptist and a retired owner and operator of Sportsman Restaurant. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Elder Arnold Bailey and Elder Josh Bell will officiate. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 8:00 p.m. A special singing will be held on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. open to the public. Visitation will also be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Avery and Luevirta Hamilton Turner; his wife, Dorothy Ward Turner; a daughter, Renita Kay Turner; a son, Ricky Allen Turner; a brother, Charles Henry Turner; and a sister, Delma Ruth Land. He is survived by two sons, David and Charles Avery Turner of Florida. Two sisters, Emogene and husband Arnold Bailey and Brenda Jane Ray all of Smithville. She was a member of the Fall City Baptist Church and a Nurse. Mrs. Glenda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Claude Ingram of Smithville; 5 children, Gwenda (Rick) Notestine of West Bloomfield, MI, Robert (Ginny) Ingram, Sr. of Murfreesboro, Michael Ingram of Lebanon, Martin Ingram of Gordonsville and Kelly (Jay) Cantrell of Smithville; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Judie (Clair) Ickes of Portland, OR, Jo Ann Harrison of Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted 11:AM Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jerry Spicer officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 70 year old Bonnie Ruth Howell of Smithville died Sunday night at the Upper Cumberland Hospice House in Cookeville. She was a retired cook at DeKalb Community Hospital and a member of the Covenant Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hill Howell; parents, Robert and Louise Tarr Baker; a grandchild, Hannah Ashford; a brother, H.B. Baker; and a sister, Georgia Barber. Survivors include five daughters, Louise Howell of Smithville, Annette Cox of South Carolina, and Kelly Barnes of Smithville, Tracie and husband Wayne Tramel of Dowelltown and Robin Keaton of Smithville. One son, Joey Howell of Smithville.
