Donny Eugene Dodd age 76 of Alexandria, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Eugene was born in Dekalb County, son of the late Harrison and Jennie Mai Hale Dodd. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Eugene Dodd; brothers, Henry and Calvin Dodd; sisters, Annie Lee Smith, Dexie Thorne and Lucille Plariee. He was a farmer and avid coon hunter. Eugene is survived by his wife, Judy Walton Dodd of Alexandria; children, Judy (Woody) Dodds of Castalian Springs, Keith (Connie) Dodd of Lebanon, Donna (Monty) Martin of Watertown, Kim (Joey) Edwards of Lebanon, Tim Dodd of Alexandria; stepchildren, Wanda (Adam) Mathis of McMinnville and Roy Murphy of Smithville; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Jodene Atnip of Watertown; nieces and nephews. Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Atnip officiating. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Thursday and prior to services Friday. Interment at Hunter Memorial Park.

Margaret Ann Robinson
73 year old Margaret Ann Robinson of Birmingham, Alabama and formerly of Smithville, died Thursday, April 9 after a short illness. She was an active member of the Metropolitan Church of God in Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Solan and Roberta Snow Robinson, and her brother-in-law, John Reeves. She is survived by her sister, Jimmye Lynn Reeves.
Robinson was a 1960 graduate of Smithville High School. She worked in Nashville for a few years at the Executive Club, and was a long-time sales person at Lou Ann’s Fashions after moving back to Smithville. In 1986, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama and worked many years at First General Lending, Pinnacle Bank, and for Crest Cadillac.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 18 at the First Baptist Church in Smithville at 1:00 p.m. with Ralph Vaughn officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon.
Gregory Scott Redmon
Gregory Scott Redmon age 57 formerly of Watertown, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his residence in Smithville. Scotty was born January 20, 1958 at Dibrell, son of Kenneth Mack Redmon and the late Sylvia Estes Redmon. He was a 1976 graduate of Watertown High School and was employeed as a carpenter and carpet installer. Scotty is survived by his son, Justin Redmon and fiancee’, Ashton of Smithville; grandson, Conner Issac Redmon; father, Mack Kennth Redmon of Murfreesboro; sister, Kathy Phillips of Watertown; brother, Sammy (Teresa) Redmon of Murfreesboro; brother-in-law, Troy Phillips of Watertown; nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn (Naaman) Stillwell, Samuel Redmon and Dalton Phillips; great nephew, Braxton Redmon; aunts, cousins and many friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate Scotty’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Visitation will be from Noon till service time on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Scotty’s new grandson, Conner.

Mrs. Robbie Dean Taylor age 83 of Dowelltown, passed away Monday April 6, 2015, due to injuries received in an automobile accident. She was born September 1, 1931 to her parents, the late Otis Grant and Bonnie Bessie Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Granddaughter Rachel Underhill, Great Grandson Trace Underhill, and Father of her Children Reed Turner. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a retired factory worker from Precision Rubber and a homemaker. She is survived by 2 Children, Mildred Hembree of Cookeville, and Judy White of Lebanon; 2 Grandchildren, Ken Underhill, and Stacey Watson; 3 Great Grandchildren, Zack Underhill, Tyler Underhill, and Ezra Watson. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 2PM April 9, 2015 at Dekalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. B.J. Thomas and Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Taylor Cemetery. Visitation with family will be on Wednesday 4PM until 8:PM and Thursday 12:PM until the time of service at 2:PM. Rev. Carl Lynn Sifford, Sr., age 87 of Smithville passed away Monday April 6, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville. He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Ella Tipton Sifford. He was a retired Church of God minister having preached for over 60 years and was ordained as a Bishop, he was a member of Church of God in Johnson City, TN and attended the Smithville Church of God. Rev. Sifford was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. In addition to his parents Rev. Sifford was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Sifford; 1 Son: Stephen Sifford; 1 Brother: Bobby Sifford; 1 Sister: Daisy Stewart. Funeral services will be held 2:PM Wednesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Danny Evans officiating. Graveside services and internment will be held Thursday at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, S. Carolina. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4:PM until 8:PM and Wednesday 10:AM until time of the service at 2:PM. Michael Young
56 year old Michael Young of Dowelltown died Friday morning at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a Baptist and a construction worker. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Brian Jones will officiate and burial will be in the Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m.. Young was preceded in death by his father, Jake Young. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Tramel Young of Dowelltown. A son, Nelson Young and daughter, Ashley Young; and two grandchildren, Cody Goff and Wyatt Young all of Smithville. Mother, Dorothy Caldwell Young; a brother, Timothy Young and sister, Rena Young all of Dowelltown. A half brother, David Vanatta of Nashville.
