Willow Dean Atnip Keyt

Willow Dean Atnip Keyt age 86 a native of DeKalb County and a longtime resident of McMinnville and Knoxville, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was born April 11, 1928 to her parents, the late Burley L. and Novella Curtis Atnip. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Keyt, Sr., 4 sisters, Gertrude Worley, Viola Jelinek, Elsie McKeever and Alene Holmes Ladd; 3 brothers, Oliver Atnip, Jack Atnip and Dale Atnip. Dean was a member of the Madison Street Baptist Church and was a nursery worker. She is survived by her son, Charles E. Keyt, Jr. of Knoxville; granddaughter, Cassandra Keyt Berry of Charlottesville, VA; 1 brother, Jim Solon Atnip of Georgetown, Louisiana; 1 sister, Ruth Atnip Johnson of Monroe, Louisiana; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be 1:PM Monday , March 9, 2015 at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. There will no visitation or services held at the funeral home. Family and Friends will meet at the cemetery for the Graveside service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Marie Robinson

Marie Robinson age 86 of Smithville passed away Saturday night, March 7, 2015 at her residence. She was born March 21, 1938 to her parents, the late Talmadge and Myrtle Moore Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Robinson; daughter, Linda Malone; son-in-law, Wayne Blair; 5 sisters, Alta Vandergriff, Wilma Cubbins, Edith Seals, Ova Driver, Lena Vanderpool. Marie was a member of the Snow Hill United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer and was a member of the Snow Hill UMC Cemetery Committee for close to 40 years, she retired from Kingston Timers. Survivors include 1 son, Tim Robinson of Smithville; granddaughter, Whitney (Logan) Roberson of Boaz, KY; Son-in-law, Don (Pat) Malone of Chattanooga; step-daughter, Sue Blair of Smithville; step-grandchildren, Vickie (David) Haggard and Tim (Holly) Adcock; step-great-grandchildren, Katie and Ryan Haggard, Caroline and Jackson Adcock; 1 sister, Margie Close of Olive Branch, MS; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 1:PM Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Kenneth Clayton and Perry Clayton officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday 2:PM until 9:PM and Wednesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Fay Adcock

Fay Adcock age 75 of Smithville passed away Saturday night at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was born November 8, 1939 to her parents the late Lester and Myrtle Adcock McCormick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Brian and Chris Adcock; daughter-in-law, Wilma Adcock; 1 brother, Melvin Adcock. She was a retired factory worker and attended the Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Franklin Adcock of Smithville; 2 sons, Ricky Adcock and Derwin (Beth) Adcock both of Smithville; 3 brothers, James McCormick of McMinnville, Bobby McCormick and Leonard McCormick both of Smithville; 3 sisters, Ann Hallum of Smithville, Linda Womack and Kathy Cannon both of McMinnville. Funeral services will be conducted 1:PM Tuesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wallace Caldwell officiating and burial to follow in Corinth Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday 11:AM until 8:PM and Tuesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

73 year old Jo Ann Hughes Nichols died Saturday at Woodbury Health Care.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years: W.R. Nichols of Woodbury; Daughters: Arlene Wilson (Dewey Barrett) of Woodbury and Julie Fitts (David Speakman) of Smithville; Grandchildren: Jennifer (Joshua) Keomanivong, Andrea Davenport, Dana Davenport, Derrick Fitts, Jeffery “Bubba” Nichols and Dustin Nichols; Great Grandchildren: Kelvin & Jocelyn Keomanivong, Braxton Carter, Karlee Gladden and Natalie Nichols; Brothers-in-law, Thomas Earl Nichols & Roy Nichols; Siblings: Innette Gunter of Murfreesboro, J.B. (Ardana) Hughes of Warren Co. and J.C. (Joan) Hughes of Auburntown; Nieces and Nephews, Cindy Garrison, Jennifer Brown, Ruth Ann Watts, Cody Hughes, Lanny & Lyndsey Gunter; also surviving are many friends. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, and very many friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clyde & Anna Belle Bogle Hughes and son, Jeffery William Nichols; sister-in-law, Ruth Harmon Nichols; Brother-in-law, William “Bill” Gunter.
Jo Ann loved spending time with her family, cooking, camping and fishing. Before she retired, she worked for Dekalb Telephone where she cleaned offices. She was a member of the Woodbury First Baptist.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Saturday in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Van Nichols & Bro. Bobby Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Reed Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 pm to 9 pm Friday, March 06, 2015.

Kayden Ray Fults, 2, went to fly with angels Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Dekalb Hospital. He was a native of Warren Co.
He is survived by his Mom, Kaycie Lynn Fults and Dad, Mark Johnson of Smithville; Siblings: Landon & Adrian Fults, Karlee & Joshua Johnson, Brooklyn Barnes all of Smithville; Grandparents: Jacky Fults of Smithville, Melissa Foster (Kenny) Young of Shelbyville, Kathy Johnson (Rick Hindsley) of Smithville; Great Grandparents: Viola Foster of Woodbury; Martha Fults of Smithville; Carmine Bain of Dowelltown; Special Cousins: Matt, Angie, Jacob & Emma Campbell of Woodbury; Uncles and Aunts: Cody & Tyler Fults of Shelbyville, Mary Johnson of Woodbury, Fairy Johnson of Smithville and Angela Ferrell; Cousin: Bridget Fults.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bobby Johnson and great grandfather, Roy Fults and Max Foster.
Kayden was a beautiful boy who loved fire trucks and was a Jr. Member of the DeKalb Co. Fire Dept. 6206 ½. He also loved books and Sponge Bob.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Friday, March 05, 2015 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hale Cemetery. Vernon W. Scott

Vernon W. Scott, 82, died Thurs, Feb. 26, 2015 at NHC of Smithville following an extended illness.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Jean Page of Alexandria.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Fred Scott and Sylvia Lester Rogers Scott, his wife, Edith Faye Warren Scott, his son, Glenn Edward Scott and his brothers. Billy Melvin Scott, James Wiley Scott and Roy Scott.
Mr. Scott was a farmer and former policeman. He lived in the Dismal Community of Dekalb County.
Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 am until time of service Tuesday.
