91 year old Christine Chapman of Smithville died Sunday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Believer’s Tabernacle. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Venus and Ollie Hendrix Jones; her husband, Chester Chapman; a son, Willie Chapman; a grandson, Michael Murphy; two brothers, Brown and J.B. Jones; and two sisters, Ova Hale and Sarah Lynch. Survivors include two daughters, Macon Hale and Pauline and husband Danny Green of Smithville. A son, Roy and wife Teresa Chapman of Smithville. Grandchildren, Drenda and husband Basil Foutch Murphy, Roger and wife Leeta Chapman, and Amanda and husband Jeremy Neal. Step-grandchild, Sabrina and husband Darrell Brown. Great grandchildren, Veronica Atnip, Stephanie and Bryan Leist, Christie Chapman, and Deanna Neal. Great great grandchildren, Christian and Alexis Atnip, Savanna Murphy, Mikey Steinback, and Kinzi Foutch; and a sister, Samantha Hale of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews including special niece Helen Taylor of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
