88 year old Claudia Emberton of Smithville died Wednesday at NHC of Smithville. She was a retired employee of Genesco and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Allen Mahan will officiate and burial will be in the Keltonburg Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Terry and Avo Pedigo Trapp; a son, Henry Jackson Emberton. Four sisters, Clara, Cloyed, and Cloyce Trapp, and Clella Green. Four brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Clester, and Charlie Trapp. Survivors include a son, Dean “Buddy” and his wife Dianne Emberton of Smithville. One daughter, Brenda Steele of South Carolina. Seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren. A sister, Cecil Billings of Smithville. A brother, Clifford Trapp of Sparta. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
