22 year old Courtney Kristin Pirtle of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a secretary at Pirtle’s Nursery and a member of the Church of the Nazarene. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Trent Colwell and Rannie Phillips will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John B. and Nell Hobbs Judkins. She is survived by her parents, Danny and Melissa Judkins Pirtle; a sister, Trista Pirtle; a brother, Danny Pirtle, Jr.; and her paternal grandparents, James and Ruth Houk Pirtle all of Smithville. Four aunts, Judy and husband Ronnie Hale, Faye Cook, and Janie and husband Paul Armstrong all of Smithville, and Debbie and husband Rannie Phillips of Woodbury. One uncle, John and his wife Barbara Anderson of Georgia. One special friend, Jamie Tuttenburg of Smithville. Several cousins and extended family also survive. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has asked that donations be made to the Church of the Nazarene Youth Group, in lieu of flowers.
