53 year old Darlene Stanley of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and she worked at the shirt factory. She was also a restaurant worker. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Shannon Cantrell and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Stanley and her mother, Martha Myrie Hale Atnip. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and “Frog” England of Smithville. A grandson, Dakota England of Smithville. Her father, Willie Atnip, Jr. of Smithville. Sisters, Wilma Cantrell of Smithville, Janie Diane Hale of Temperance Hall, and Janice Walker and Darnell Crook both of Smithville. A brother, Jimmy Allen Atnip of Baxter. Three special nieces, Amanda Savage, Ashley Hobbs, and Tonya Crook. Nieces, Jamie Ashford, Jennifer White, Angela Johnson, Amy Haggard, Lisa Walker, and Kim Young. Nephews, Anthony Cantrell, Shannon Cantrell, Gabe Walker, Jimmy Allen Atnip, II, and Darrell Crook. Four special grandchildren, Raven, Skylar, Kylee, and Kinsley Savage. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made , in lieu of flowers, to DeKalb Funeral Chapel, to help with funeral expenses.
