57 year old David Lee Vanatta of Woodbury died at his home on Saturday of a short illness. He was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church and an employee of the Woodbury Farmers Coop. Vanatta was preceded in death by his father, Edward Vanatta and his foster aunt, Alevia Vanatta; and brothers, Jerry and Charles Vanatta. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Richard Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 9:00 p.m. Vanatta is survived by his wife, Brenda Davenport Vanatta of Woodbury. Three children, Tracy Vanatta of Jacksonville, Florida, Danny and wife Jo Ann Vanatta of Dowelltown and Vanessa and husband Vince Shrum of Woodbury. Three grandchildren, Dusty Vanatta, Corey Sherman, and Rebekka Shrum. Five sisters, Peggy Bissonette, Linda Davis, and Carolyn Neal all of Smithville, Pam Rice and Crystal Lloyd both of Smyrna. Sister-in-law, Judy Vanatta of Smithville. Step-mother, Josephine Vanatta of Smyrna. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
