79 year old Delores Eileen Cole Prelich of Smithville died Sunday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Andrew Michael and Ethel Mae Edwards Prelich. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Smithville where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was also involved in the teaching ministry at the Webb House, a volunteer at Haven of Hope, and she participated in the jail ministry in DeKalb County. Mrs. Prelich was also the former minister of music at First Baptist Church in Smithville and Salem Baptist Church in Liberty. A memorial service will be held after the Sunday morning worship service at the Smithville First Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Andrea Cantrell of Smithville, Debra Hallison of Lakeworth, Florida, and Denise Fuson of Kodak, Tennessee. A son, Darryl Cole of Cookeville. A brother, Thomas Prelich of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Prelich was preceded in death by one son, Stephen. Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements.
