61 year old Dennis Rigsby of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Mount Hope The Baptist Church and a U.S. Marine Veteran. He was also a member of the Liberty Lodge # 77, the Short Mountain Lodge #373, the Eastern Star #374, and a Shriner. Rigsby was retired from Carrier where he worked for 33 years. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Leslie Moore and Tim Baker will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. A Masonic Service will be held Monday night at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Lenda Rigsby of Smithville. Two children and their spouses, Tommy Wayne and Karen Rigsby of Smithville and Shannon and Dale Garner of Morrison. Four grandchildren, Roberta Applegate, Piper Jordan Rigsby, Steven Dale Garner, and Cannan Hope Garner. His parents, Willie Lee and May Rigsby of Smithville and a special friend, Jimmy Taylor. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
