77 year old Dorothy Jean Underhill of Lebanon died Friday night at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was a member of the Shop Springs Baptist Church. Underhill was also retired from retail sales and was a homemaker. The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Ken Tramel, Carl Price, and Jerry Essary will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Eugene Underhill; parents, Bill and Jennie Cantrell; and a sister, Vella Rhea Taylor. Survivors include children, Charlotte and husband Alan Lynch of Nashville, Ricky and wife Norma Underhill of Lebanon, and Tammy and husband George Smartt of McMinnville. Eight grandchildren, Matt and wife Regan Underhill, Josh and wife Meredith Underhill, Jenni Beth and husband Cody Haskins, Alexandria, Jacqueline, Madison, Will Smartt and Billy Lynch. Three great grandchildren Jac Underhill, Isabella Underhill, and Bailey Underhill. Sibling, Bill and wife Dee Cantrell of Phoenix City, Alabama. In-laws, Harold Taylor, Dixie and wife Naomi Underhill, Beecher and wife Jeanette Underhill, and Alyson Underhill. Eight nieces and nephews and other family members. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to the Shop Springs Baptist Church or to the American Lung Society, in lieu of flowers.
