96 year old Emmett S. Cobble of Smithville died Monday night at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Freddie Copeland will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until the service at 4:30 p.m. He was preceded in death by his wives, Christine Cobble and Ruby Cobble; parents, Will and Addie Mae Cobble; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rose Cobble; two other sons, James Cobble, Johnny Paul Cobble; two sisters, Maggie Cobble and Valley Hucklebee; and two grandchildren, Angel and Chris Cobble. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Smith of Smithville. One son, Bill Cobble of Smithville. One daughter-in-law, Helen Cobble of Crossville. Eight grandchildren, Amanda Smith and fiance Ralph McIntyre, Miranda Smith, Amanda Cobble and Josh Turner, Keisha Farless, Josh McCowan, Nicole Cobble, and fiance Carlos Godsey all of Smithville, Michael Cobble of Crossville, and Nancy Cobble of Maryland. Fifteen great grandchildren also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has asked that donations please be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home for burial expenses, in lieu of flowers.
