90 year old Eula Chisam Cantrell of Smithville died Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of the New Union The Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church at Old Hickory. She was also a member of the women’s quilting circle at New Union Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Anthony Pelham and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Nicholas and Nancy Melvina Fisha Chisam and a sister, Hazel Chisam. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Willie Atwood Cantrell of Smithville. Daughters, Nancy Cantrell and her husband Jack Redden of Hermitage, Jeane Carver and her husband Rick Norvell of Nashville, and Joanie Cantrell and her husband Gary Breshears of Mount Juliet. Grandchildren, Ronald Todd Jackson, Cale Paxton Carver, and Ellen Kate Norvell. A sister, Gladys Ray Cope of Smithville and a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law, Helen and Herman Roller of Rock Island. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
