92 year old Frank Jennings Cope of Smithville died Friday night of an extended illness at his residence. He was a member of the Keltonburg United Methodist Church, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a retired Landscape Engineer, and a member of the American Legion and VFW. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Keltonburg Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene; and a sister, Ruth. He is survived by his wife, Donna Marie Cope of Smithville. Three children, Marsha Fleer, Patricia Landrum, and Richard Cope. Three step-children, Barbara Gohs, and William and James Sanders. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-grandchildren along with three sisters, Ophalene Cantrell, Nell Cantrell, and Sarah Cope. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
