78 year old Harold Eugene Pack, Sr. of Smithville died Monday at River Park Hospital. Pack was a Baptist and he served in the U.S. Army. He was also a set-up man, machinist, and a truck driver. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Royce Martin and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Pack was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Virginia Pedigo Pack; a son, Steve Pack; brothers, Jim, Furman, Herman, and Othel Pack; and sisters, Katie Pack and Emma Butler. Survivors include his wife, Betty Barnes Pack of Smithville. Seven children, Shirl and husband Tiny Barnes of Smithville; June Riebe of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Harold E. Jr. and wife Paulette Pack of Westmoreland; Patricia Stokes of Leesburg, Florida; James and wife Pam Barnes of Centertown; and Rick and wife Cynthia Barnes of Smyrna. Ten grandchildren. Four great grandchildren. Two great great grandchildren and a sister, Sue Anderson of Detroit, Michigan. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
