90 year old Henry Kittrell Elrod of the Johnson’s Chapel Community died Friday at White County Hospital. Elrod was a retired teacher from the DeKalb County School System, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the Peeled Chestnut Methodist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Thomas Davis will officiate and burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Elrod was preceded in death by parents, George W. and Maude Kittrell Elrod, Sr.; a brother, George Elrod, Jr., and three sisters, Geraldine Elrod, Fannie Vinson, and Maude Keesling. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, James and Faye Elrod of Manchester and four nephews and two nieces. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
