88 year old Hillard Odene Lawrence of Watertown died Tuesday at Summit Medical Center. Born in DeKalb County, he was retired from Kraft Foods and TRW Ross Gear. Lawrence was a member of the Shop Springs Baptist Church, a graduate of Liberty High School, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, and a 50 year member of the Comer Lodge #417 F&AM. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Carl Price and David Briscoe will officiate and burial will be in the Wilson County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Thursday. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leslie and Mary Yates Lawrence. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Granstaff Lawrence of Watertown. Sons, Hugh Mathis and wife Linda Lawrence of Smithville and Steven Hill and wife Carol Lawrence of Chicago, Illinois. A stepson, James Robert and wife Peggy Gabriel Trammel. Four grandchildren also survive. Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown is in charge of the arrangements.
