84 year old Jack Donald Johnson of Alexandria died Saturday at UMC Hospital in Lebanon. He was born in DeKalb County and was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. He worked 27 years at Craft. Johnson also served for 15 years on the county commission and worked for 20 years at the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Ronnie Smith will officiate and burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the service. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Vance Johnson and Margaret Williams and his wife, Patsy Nell Johnson. He is survived by his children, Jackie Johnson, Dave Johnson, Debbie and husband Bennie Curtis, and Donnie and wife Jocelyn Johnson all of Alexandria. Grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Michelle Overstreet, Jamie Johnson, Clint Johnson, Chad Curtis, Ty Curtis, Jeremie Johnson, and Jennifer Johnson. Several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews survive. A sister, Sue McMillen and brother, Paul Johnson both of Alexandria. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Mount Zion Cemetery Fund in his memory.
