45 year old James Lorne Tate of Woodbury died Thursday at the emergency room of DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church and a self-employed builder. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Donald Owens and Mark Miller will officiate and burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Tate was preceded in death by his mother, Drue Tate and his grandparents, Coval and Willie Tate and Cecil and Mary
Lewis. Survivors include children, Adam Shoemake of Woodbury, Josh and Tori Tate of Smithville, and Tristan Tate of Woodbury. Grandchildren, Dakota and Maisie Shoemake. Father, Bill and his wife Carol Tate of Woodbury. Sister, Tammy Tate of Michigan. Nieces, Micaela and Emily Wood and companion, Niki Bonham of Woodbury. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses.
