76 year old James Ted Donnell of Smithville died Monday night at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was retired from the U.S. Army and National Guard and a member of the Westwood Church of Christ. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bill Palmiter will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lucy Ware Donnell. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris Vanderpool Donnell of Smithville. One daughter, Jayma Donnell of Nashville. A brother, Oliver Donnell of Murfreesboro. A sister-in-law, Ruby Medley of Smithville and several nieces and nephews. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
