68 year old Jean Hooper Clendenon of Smithville died Friday at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. She was retired from TRC in Smyrna and a member of Whorton Springs Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Mahan and Lash Rice will officiate with burial in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the service at 5:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brownie Clendenon, and parents, Charlie Ervin and Mildred Pauline Miller Adcock. She is survived by two sons, Billy Jr. and wife Melissa Hooper, and Jeff Hooper; one granddaughter, Jessica and husband Pete Taylor, one great-grandson, Aiden Taylor’ and a brother, Dean and wife Wanda Adcock, all of Smithville. Stepson, John Clendenon of McMinnville; stepdaughter, Summer Foster of Woodbury; three step grandchildren, Cody Clendenon of McMinnville, Seth and Sydney Foster of Woodbury. Uncle, James “Doober” and wife Naomi Miller of Liberty. Two aunts, Dorothy Vanatta and Aimee Miller of Smithville. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Caregivers at Suncrest and NHC of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
