83 year old Jean N. Alexander of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and a bookkeeper for Smithville Motors from 1958 until 1986. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alexander; her parents, Joe and Lera Tilfrod Northcutt; and a brother, Foster Northcutt. Survivors include two sons, Jim Alexander of Cookeville and Tommy and his wife Joyce Alexander of Smithville. One sister, Carol Banta of Smithville. Two brothers, Dixon and wife Isabell Northcutt of Brentwood and Charles W. “George” Northcutt of McMinnville. Four grandchildren, Jenny Elizabeth and Doug Lynch of Orlando, Florida; Rob Alexander of Smithville; David Alexander of Murfreesboro; and James Daniel Alexander of Smithville. Sisters-in-law, Edith Northcutt of Woodbury, Hazel Neely of Murfreesboro, and Waldean Mitchell of Murfreesboro. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jean and Richard Drury of Murfreesboro, John and Jane Alexander of Smithville. Daughter-in-law, Jan Alexander of Smithville. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
