75 year old Jim Truitt Hale of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Believers Tabernacle Church in Murfreesboro. Hale was also retired from TVA and he worked as a custodian for the DeKalb County School System for 10 years. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Joseph Hamid will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Hale was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel Cecil and Lelah Pearl Dutton Hale; five brothers, Cecil Robert, Alvie, Garland, Bratten, and Hubert; and half-sisters, Estelle Murphy and Belle Page. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Macon Hale of Smithville. A daughter, Amanda and her husband Jeremy Neal of Smithville. A granddaughter, Deeanna Neal of Smithville. A brother, Landon and his wife Nell Hale of Smithville. Three sisters, Lillian Winchester, Elsie Miller, and Thelma Mooneyham all of Smithville. Mother-in-law, Christine Chapman of Smithville. Sisters-in-law, Louise Hale and Frances Foster both of Smithville, and Pauline and her husband Danny Green of Smithville. Brothers-in-law, Willie and Carol Chapman and Roy and Teresa Chapman all of Smithville. Nieces and nephews also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
