71 year old Jo Ann Rhody of Smithville died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church and a retired factory worker. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Cora Tramel Cripps; a son, Jim Rhody; brothers, Hoyte and R.L. Cripps; and sisters, Marene Garvey and Judy Hale. Survivors include three sons, Jack and his wife Pam Rhody of Smithville, Danny Rhody of Smithville, and Kevin and his wife Amy Rhody of Smithville. One daughter, Kathy Rhody of Joelton. Five grandchildren, Courtney, Weston, Whitley, Alex, and Rachel Rhody. One great grandchild, Sidney Popovich. Two brothers, Bobby Cripps of Smithville and Ray Doyle Cripps of Woodbury. Four sisters, Fay West, Wanda Hendrix, and Nettie Jim Foster all of Smithville, and Dorothy Mansetti of Pennsylvania. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made to the library of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
