56 year old Joe Donald Young of Murfreesboro died Thursday at his residence. He worked for Nissan as a lead technician for 27 years and was also a self-employed body shop owner. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Douglas Webb will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Young was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Webb Little; his step-mother, Georgia Young; a daughter, Paula Jo Young. Survivors include his wife, Carmen Young of Murfreesboro. A son, J.D. Young of Smithville. A daughter, Amanda Niper of Fairview. A grandson, Joseph Landon Pack. His father, Morris Young of Liberty. Brothers, Eddie Morris Young of Smithville, Terry Young of Mount Juliet, Jeff Young of Alexandria, and Anthony “Buck” Little of Hyden, Kentucky. Sisters, Sherry Williams of Alexandria, Donna Hale of Brush Creek, and Lesa Hayes of Liberty. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family has asked that donations be made to Domestic Violence of Rutherford County, in lieu of flowers.
