70 year old Kenneth Eugene Arnold of Smithville died Saturday, February 11 at his residence. The funeral will be Friday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m. Brad D. Driver, Pam Baines, and Michael Hale will officiate. Arnold was a member of the Indian Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was also a retired factory worker. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Eunie Pearl Williams Arnold; a brother, Vestrell Arnold; and a sister, Dora Lawson. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Barbara Dean Arnold of Smithville. A brother, Jimmy A. and wife Mildred Arnold of Smithville. A sister, Wilma Joan and husband George Hamilton of Smithville. Nieces, Opal Faye Glover, Peggy and husband Marty Merriman, and Pam and husband Michael Baines. Nephews, Ronnie and wife Pat Arnold, Charles Wayne Arnold, Ricky Lynn Arnold, and Greg Driver of Smithville. Great nephew, Brad Driver and Michael Paul White. Great niece, Emily Linder. Many other great nieces and nephews, Sister-in-law, Oceia Marie Arnold of Smithville. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Jerry Spurlock of Smithville, Anna Ruth and Jack Chidester of Nashville, and Evie Hill of Smithville and many other family and friends.
