82 year old Loyd Lee Hale of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church, a shirt factory worker, and a farmer. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bernard Houk and Dathan Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. Hale was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Dexie Hale; a brother, James Hale; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Fannie Graham; a sister-in-law, Hazel Hale; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Graham. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Josephine Hale of Smithville. Two sons. Rickey and wife Diane Hale and Mark and wife Patty Hale all of Smithville. Three grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, and Alicia Hale. One great grandchild, Addison. A brother, Hoyte and wife Helen Hale of Smithville. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carlon and wife Melba Graham, Phillip and wife Ann Hawkins all of Smithville, and Billie and wife Helen Graham of Akron, Ohio. Special friend, Patrick Allen of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
