86 year old Martha Sue Squires of Smithville died Monday at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church and a retired factory worker and homemaker. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Mike Carpenter and Terry Fesler will officiate and burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Lillian Reeves Evans; her husband, J.W. Squires; a daughter, Ann Lefton; a sister, Jane Grandstaff; and a brother, Robert Evans. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy and husband Wayne Fuson of Smithville. Three grandchildren, Jerry Fuson and Jenny and husband Todd Cantrell all of Smithville, and Julie and husband Collin McCoy of Winterpark, Florida. Great grandchildren, Madi and Megan Cantrell and Max and Sam McCoy. A sister, Frances Thomas of Nashville. Brother-in-law, Fred and wife Becky Squires of Lebanon. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
