Mary Alice Hayes

63 year old Mary Alice Hayes of Smithville died Thursday at her residence. She was a member of the Allens Chapel United Methodist Church and an office manager at the doctor’s office. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Allen’s Chapel United Methodist Church. James Hayes and Phil Tollett will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from noon until the service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. She is survived by her children, Troy and wife Judy Thomas of Smithville, Chris Thomas of Murfreesboro, and Megan Lann of Smithville. Four grandchildren. Mother, Omega Hayes of Smithville. Father, Lester Hayes of Sparta. Brother, James and wife Debbie Hayes of Smithville. The family asks that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to Allen’s Chapel United Methodist Church or to the Lighthouse Christian Camp. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
