77 year old Mary Etta Dean Rankhorn of Smithville died Tuesday at Centennial Medical Center. She was a retired cook at DeKalb Middle School where she worked for 26 years. She was also a member of the New Union Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at New Union Baptist Church. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. and Garry McBride will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 10:00 a.m.until 11:00 a.m. at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Quitman and Lorene Williamson Keathley; her husband, Shadie Rankhorn; one son, Earl Dean Rankhorn; and a brother, Payton Hugene Keathley. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Rankhorn and a son, Jeff Rankhorn, both of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Shalimar Newport and Jacob Rankhorn. Three great grandchildren, LeAnna and Isaac Newport and Shiley Rankhorn all of Rock Island. Two brothers, Carson Keathley of McMinnville and M.C. Keathley of Louisiana. One special cousin, Pilcher Roller of Alabama. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
