82 year old Maudie Virginia Thomason of Smithville died Friday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a member of the Emmanuel Bread of Life Church and a factory worker. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. B.J. Thomason will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Susie Vanatta Chapman; children, David Dale and Wanda Gail Thomason; and brothers, William Chapman and Jessie Chapman. Survivors include a daughter, Patsy and husband Jessie Drury of Smithville. Two sons, Doyle Thomason and Bobby and wife Ruby Thomason both of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Michael Caldwell, Devin Drury, B.J. Thomason, and Clint Thomason. Six great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and three brothers, Toy B. Chapman of Liberty, Cordell Chapman and Buster Chapman both of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
