98 year old Nettie L. Curtis of Smithville died Saturday at her residence. She was a factory worker and a member of the Short Mountain Church of God. The funeral will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Freddy Curtis will officiate and burial will be in the Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 4:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Curtis; her parents, James and Mary Herman Lawson; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Jo Curtis; brothers, Floyd, Clarence, and Hershal Lawson; sisters, Alice Seymour, Estie Scurlock, Flora Warren, Lela Bratcher, twin sister Emma Hale, and Cora Hampton. Survivors include sons, Homer and his wife Martha Curtis of Woodbury and Joe and his wife Sue Curtis of Smithville. Grandchildren, Randy Curtis, Alesia Smith, David Curtis, and Gary Curtis Jones. Four great grandchildren, one step great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
