97 year old Pauline Malone Tramel of Nashville died Tuesday, July 23, at her residence. She was a dedicated educator having served at Liberty High School and at Watertown. She was a Christian leader in the Methodist Church, Civic organizer, loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She was a graduate of State Teacher’s College in Murfreesboro in 1939 and taught in the DeKalb County and Metro Nashville public school system for 27 years, and was a member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church. Her roots ran deep in DeKalb County with relatives in the Malone and Tramel families. The funeral will be will be held Wednesday, July 31, at Noon at Belle Meade United Methodist Church with a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 noon at Belle Meade United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Tramel and son, Jim Tramel. She is survived by a son, Lynn Tramel and daughter-in-law, Toni Tramel, and granddaughter, Blair Tramel. The family request that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the James T. Tramel Scholarship Fund at Martin Methodist College or to Belle Meade United Methodist Church where she was an active member for 61 years.
