67 year old Ray Johnson of Smithville died Sunday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He attended the House of Prayer. Johnson was also a retired businessman and truck driver. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Tommy Taylor, Danny Parker, and Craig Mahler will officiate. Burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Wilson Johnson. Survivors include his children, Vicky and husband Thomas Snow and David Johnson all of Smithville. Grandchildren, Thomas Hutchings, Emily Snow, Trista Johnson, and Karrie Johnson. Great grandchild, Kaydence Johnson. Mother, Emma Lee Johnson of Smithville. Brother, Jerry Johnson of Smithville. Sisters, Kathleen Mahler and Era Billings both of Sparta and Dorothy Haggard of Smithville. Devoted companion, Zully Ferer of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in lieu of flowers.
