84 year old Ray Neal, Jr. of Smithville died Wednesday at Westmoreland Care and Rehab. He was a Methodist, a U.S. Navy veteran, a carpenter and bait salesman. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Ocana Coon Hunters Club. The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Royce Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray, Sr. and Mary Winnie Raymond Neal; his wife, Frances C. Neal; a son, Carlus Ray Neal; brothers, Billy Charles and John Robert Neal; and a sister, Ailene Spivack. Survivors include four children, Richard A. Neal, Sr. and wife Pat of Lebanon, Karen Joyce and husband Earl Smith of Westmoreland, Thomas A. Neal of Carthage, David Lee and wife Tammy Neal of Woodbury. Nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. Two brothers, Clayton and wife Gail Neal and Morris and wife Shirley Neal all of McMinnville. One sister, Mary and husband John Young of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
