75 year old Samuel Oscar Kennedy, Jr. of Smithville died Thursday at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was a Catholic, a truck driver, and owner/operator of Central Transport. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Gregory Catholic Church. No service or visitation wil be held at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel, Sr. and Annie Lee Kennedy; two sisters, Louise and Barbie Kennedy; and a son, James Alan Kennedy. Surivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Kennedy of Smithville. Two sons, John F. and wife Jaclyn Kennedy of Blue Ash, Ohio and Samuel L. and wife Shelia Kennedy of Walling. Six grandchildren, James and Thomas Kennedy both of Lansing, Michigan, Tina and husband Jeremy Kennedy-Sauer of Sparta, Michael Newton of Georgia, and Athena and Cameron Kennedy both of Blue Ash, Ohio. One sister, Edna Pietrzyk of Virginia and several nieces and nephews survive. The family asks that donations please be made to the St. Gregory Catholic Church building fund, the Nashville Rescue Mission or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in lieu of flowers.
