The Smithville Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will be hosting a child seat installation on Tuesday, June 30 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Smithville Wal Mart location. Officers will inspect and properly install child restraints and answer questions on proper child restraint methods.
“In a lot of cases we find that child restraints are not properly installed. We are currently in the process of training child restraint technicians within the Smithville Police Department. I encourage everyone that wants to have their child seat checked out, to come out and see us. This is a free service of the Smithville Police Department,” said Captain Steven Leffew
