78 year old Ray S. Wiggins of Dowelltown died Monday night at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a retired electrician and a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the Liberty United Methodist Church. Wilson Williams and Bobby Charles Martin will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the service. All visitation will be held at the Liberty United Methodist Church. Wiggins was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Selma Wiggins; brothers, Gary and James Wiggins; sisters, Ruth Bush and Edna Wiggins; and a son, Kenny Kilgore. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judy Wiggins of Dowelltown. Two daughters, Rose Wiggins Fish of Dowelltown and Tonya and husband Tom Coode of Murfreesboro. One son, Aubrey Kilgore of Brush Creek. Grandchildren, Timmy and wife Lacy Barnes, Terry Barnes, Chad Barnes, Cody Kilgore, Turner Spears, Alex Coode, Kayla Kilgore, and Chrissy Kilgore. 27 year old Jason West of McMinnville died Friday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a nursery worker. A graveside service and burial will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Dickens Cemetery in Chestnut Mound. No visitation or services will be held at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 1:00 p.m. for the service. Michael Hale will officiate. West was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Faye Kennedy West. 52 year old Allan Joseph Lester of Dowelltown died Thursday evening at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was disabled. Lester formerly worked as a nurseryman at Guthrie’s Nursery. Lester’s wishes were that he be cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later time. Survivors include three children, Stephanie Lester of Dowelltown and Nick and Allan Lester both of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Makaylee Winchester of Dowelltown and Brayden Lester of Smithville. 90 year old Alene Adamson Harvey of Alexandria died Saturday at UMC hospital in Lebanon. She was a longtime member of the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. Tim Diffenderfer will officiate and burial will be in the Talley Cemetery. 97 year old Grace Ann Bratten Medley of Smithville died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a retired postal worker at the Liberty Post Office. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Don Mathis will officiate. A private burial will be held at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. No visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The visitation and funeral service will be open to the public. Medley was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Medley; parents, William Thomas and Lillie Braswell Bratten; a grandson, Bryan Cantrell and a brother, Buster Bratten. Survivors include a son Harris and wife Evelyn Cantrell of Kingsport and a granddaughter, Leslie and her husband Tom Wolfgang of Germantown. 79 year old Henry C. Hickey of Gassaway died Saturday at the Woodbury Health Care Center. He was born at Silver Point and was the son of the late Sam & Alma Carter Hickey.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Gary Hancock will officiate and burial will be in the Beech Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until the time of the service.
Hickey was retired from the Carrier Corporation and was a farmer and member of the Baptist Church

69 year old Arlin Butch Early of Mart, Texas died Friday April 26. He was a brother to Linda Franklin of Smithville. The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 30 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, Texas. A family memorial service was held on Sunday, May 5 at the Dry Creek Baptist Church. Butch was born on June 28th 1943 in Bridgeport Texas to Edgar and Catherine Early. He married Gloria Wright on November 23nd, 1979. He worked as a tool and die maker for Mercury Tool.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents: grandson BillyWright Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Mart, children, Debbie Wright , Diana Gouyton and husband Craig, Bobby Wright and wife Georgia, Tracy Wright, and wife Sherry, Billy Wright, Dale McNiel and husband Benny, Johnathan Wright, and wife Simone, Jeff Wright, James Wright and wife Nickey. 78 year old James E. Braswell of Smithville died Wednesday at his residence. He was a member of the Smithville Church of God. 65 year old Nell Raymond died Thursday evening at DeKalb Community Hospital ER. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Willie Adcock Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 1 Brother, James Vaughn. Mrs. Nell was a member of the Mt. Hope The Baptist Church and was a Bank Teller with Liberty State Bank. She is survived by her Husband, Earl Raymond of Smithville; 2 Sons, Brian (Kristin) Raymond of Lexington, KY and Adam (Amy) Raymond of Smithville; 5 Grandchildren, Thomas Raymond, Brianna Raymond, Katherine Bullard, Allison Little and Julia Little and 2 Expected Grand-babies, Alexis Nichole and Aniston Marie Raymond; 2 Sisters, Flora Mai Adcock and Marie (Jimmy) Taylor of Smithville; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, B.L. and Helen Raymond of Smithville and Several Nieces and Nephews.
