Inez Harvey Lawrence age 95 of Nashville, died Friday evening September 11, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital in Midtown Nashville. Born December 21, 1919 she was the daughter of the late J.T. Harvey and Alma Ready Harvey. She was preceded in death her husband, Claude Wesley Lawrence; sisters, Mamie Johnson, Ida Rollins, Willie Johnson, Pauline Hayes, Nina Smith and Frances Saddler and brothers, Jack Harvey and Woodrow Harvey. Inez is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and their families. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 15 2015 at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Dr. Kay Hardin officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Monday Sept. 14, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and prior to services on Tuesday. Interment will be at Jennings Cemetery in Statesville.

Peter Scott “Skeeter” Dale
50 year old Peter Scott “Skeeter” Dale of Murfreesboro died Friday night at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Scott was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Pauline Dale. He grew up attending the Smithville Cumberland Presbyterian Church and worked in Auto Detailing. He is survived by his father, Bobby Dale of Knoxville; mother, Mary Ellen Dale of Smithville; one son, Jonah Riley Dale of Murfreesboro; a sister, Patricia Collins of Texas; three brothers, Jamie Dale of Murfreesboro, David Dale of Smyrna, Josh Dale of Murfreesboro; aunt, Nell Beshearse of Smithville; cousin, Jim Beshearse of Smithville; special friends, Steven Estes and Mark Miller. Scott’s remains were cremated and a memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 3 at the Smithville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Isaac Gray will officiate. Josie Pauline Hobbs
73 year old Josie Pauline Hobbs of Liberty died Saturday September 5 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. The family has chosen direct cremation but a memorial service will be held at graveside at Mt. Ararat Cemetery Saturday September 19 at 11:00am. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vander Anderson and Linnie Ferrell McMahan; a daughter, Judy Womack; and three brothers, Paul, J.W.. and Frankie Anderson. Survivors include her husband, John Hobbs of Liberty. Two sons, Jerry and Marinna Herman and Steven and Melissa Hobbs all of Liberty. One daughter, Vicky McMurdock of Manchester. Robert Wayne Bell
63 year old Robert Wayne Bell of Alexandria died Sunday morning at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. He was self employed in lawn care. A graveside service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Salem Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, William, Sr. and Betty Frances Waters Bell and a sister, Doris Mason. Survivors include a brother, William Bell, Jr. of Dowelltown. Three sisters, Joyce Smith of Goodlettsville, Sarah Frances Woods of Nashville and Susie Dean Bell of Nashville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ova Opal Griffin
Miss Ova Opal Griffin age 89 previously of McMinnville, TN, died Wednesday, September 02, 2015. She was born November 18, 1925, in DeKalb County, TN, worked in the computer department of Arnold Engineering Development Center and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Ms. Griffin was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Lola Blankenship Griffin, brother-in-law Sidney Fender, niece Pam Peters, and nephew Bill Peters.
Survivors include her sister Velma Griffin Fender of Americus, GA, cousins and special family members Joe (Trish) Wright, and Seth (Ashley) Wright.
Funeral service is 3 PM Sunday, September 06, 2015, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Wendell Judkins will officiate. Interment will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends Sunday from 1 PM until 3 PM at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

Carlos Lee Warden
93 year old Carlos Lee Warden of Fort Wayne, Indiana and formerly of Alexandria died Thursday at Coventry Meadows Nursing Home, Fort Wayne Indiana. Born in Overton County, he was a farmer, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member and deacon at the New Hope Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church. Ronnie Smith will officiate and burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at the church. Warden was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bob Warden and Zora Moore; a son, Phillip Warden; sisters, Gertrude, Sue, and Lela; and one brother, Joe. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Warden of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Children, Randall and wife Marge Warden of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Byron and wife Melva Warden of Dickson. Edith Raymond Wolfe age 86 of Smithville, and a longtime resident of Maryland, passed away Sunday night, August 30, 2015 at her daughters residence in Smithville, TN. Born in St. George, Bermuda on December 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Mable Hudson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Leroy Raymond, Sr. and Jessie Wolfe; 1 son, Edward Raymond; granddaughter, Angel Raymond; and daughter-in-law, Anna Raymond. Edith was a Homemaker and a Presbyterian. Survivors include 5 children, Leroy (Linda) Raymond of Virginia, Clifton Raymond, Joanne (Randy) Hutchens, Gary (Cathy) Raymond all of West Virginia and Brenda (Bruce) Savage of Tennessee; 28 Grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1:PM Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Prospect Methodist Church (5923 Woodville Rd, Mt. Tony Estes Patterson age 72 of Smithville, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Tony was born September 30, 1942 to his parents, the late Albert and Virgil Estes Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Nathan Jones. He was a member of The Baptist Tabernacle, served in the National Guard and was a former restaurant owner. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Patterson of Smithville; 7 children, Rickey (Terri) Patterson of Smithville, Jeffrey Patterson of Sparta, Penny (Michael) Edwards of Smithville, Stephen Patterson of Smithville, Travis Patterson of Smithville, Nate Patterson of Smithville and Josh Jones of Smithville; 9 grandchildren, 1 sister, Bruna Fleming of Boca Raton, Fl; 2 brothers, A.W. Patterson of Mt. Juliet and Jeloy Patterson of Smithville. Funeral services will be conducted 2:PM Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at DeKalb funeral Chapel with Bro. Garry McBride officiating. Raye D. Knight age 88 of Smithville passed away Sunday night, August 30, 2015 at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. She was born October 11, 1926 in Miami, Florida. Raye was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Jackson and Ada L. Holsey Knight; 1 brother, Jack Knight; 1 sister, Lois Caslow. She was a registered nurse and a Seventh Day Adventist. She is survived by 1 sister, Veda Waldrep of South Dakota; special friends, Elaine & Terry Cowart and Kiki Brown of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted 11:AM Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday 9:30Am until 10:45 at which time Miss Knight will be taken to the cemetery for the graveside service. Ernest Boyett
71 year old Ernest Boyett of Smithville and formerly of Palmetto, Florida died Sunday night at NHC of Smithville. He was a retired electronics repairman. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m.at the Bradenton Gospel Tabernacle in Bradenton, Florida where he was a member. John Paul Marlow will officiate. Entombment will be at Manasota Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Boyett was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Boyett; parents, Roy and Marjorie Widner Boyett Criswell; grandchild, Joey Grasessle; and two brothers, Roy and Jimmy Boyett. He is survived by five children, Tracy and John Walls of Dowelltown, Ernest and Suzi Boyett of Indiana, Denise and Joe Graessle of Florida, Deanna Decker of Florida, and Benjamin Boyett and fiancé Jessica Dubois of Florida. Three step daughters, Melissa Harrison of Smithville, Susan and John Wilcox and Shari VonBorstel of Florida. One step son, Ricky and Heidi Meyers of Maryland.
