91 year old Freda Rose Haynes Cantrell of Smithville passed away Friday night, Aug. 21st at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was a member of the Smithville 1st United Methodist Church & was former owner/operator of Bridgeway Motel. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Mr. Bobby Lowe “Blue” Hayes age 68 of Dowelltown passed away Friday night at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born June 26, 1947 to his parents, the late J.T. and Irene Davis Hayes. He was a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church and the National Spotted Saddle Horse Association, a U.S. Army Veteran. Bobby retired form the Corp of Engineers and currently was employed at Advance Auto. He is survived by his wife of 40 yrs. 94 year old Virginia Young Gill of Silver Point died Thursday night at McArthur Manor in Manchester. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club of Silver Point and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was also a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church and was a former ladies fashion buyer for Sears and Roebuck. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Herb Leftwich will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. Gill was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Waymon (Cotton) Gill; parents, Charles and Bertie Turner Young; three brothers and a sister. Survivors include four children, Glenda and husband Buster Bush of Manchester, Gary and wife Carolyne Gill of Gainesboro, Gordon and wife Brenda Gill of Lebanon, and Gray and wife Hatty Gill of Cookeville. 45 year old Tracy Lee Caplinger of Auburntown died Thursday at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury. He was owner of L & C Sporting Goods, an avid outdoorsman, and member of the West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the West Main Baptist Church. Caplinger was preceded in death by his father, Donnie Caplinger; maternal grandparents, Walter and Joyce Haas; and paternal grandparents, Monroe and Hazel Caplinger. Mr. Carl McBride of Smithville passed away Thursday morning, August 20, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Hermitage. He was born November 18, 1933 in Temperance Hall to his parents the late, Bud and Eunice Scott McBride. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 son, Ronnie McBride; 1 daughter, Patricia Gail McBride; grandson, Andrew McBride Ferris. Carl attended The Gathering in Smithville and worked with Purity Dairies for 36 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances McBride of Smithville; 2 daughters, Cindy (Grover) Moss of Hermitage and Angie (Robert) Havener of Nashville; 1 grandson, Jonathan Powell of Nashville; 1 great-grandson, Evan Powell; 2 brothers, Charles (Marie) McBride of Brentwood and John (Mary) McBride of Mt. Mr. William Eli “Bill” McClain age 76 of Smithville, passed away Monday morning at his residence. He was born February 8, 1939 to his parents, the late Joe and Pearl Turner McClain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances McClain; daughter, Tonya McClain; 3 brothers, George Lewis McClain, Cecil McClain, Jimmy McClain; 2 sisters, Anita Rackley and Marie Turner. Mr. McClain was a member of Old Fashioned Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Reichhold Chemical Company and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Survivors include 3 children, Teresa Lynn (Dennis) Sisco of Murfreesboro, William Todd (Melissa) McClain of Eagleville and Dennis Lee McClain of Smithville; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Jessica Sisco; 5 sisters, Joann Stuber of Florida, Jane Certain, Georgia McCorkle and Mae Prater all of McMinnville and Mary Jernigan of Manchester; 1 brother, James McClain of Woodbury. Sue Williams Eaton age 82 of Lebanon and a native of Alexandria departed this life August 15, 2015 at her home. She was taken and received by heavenly angels, to include the love of her life, her husband Ed, and returned to her Father’s home. As a special gift from God, she was delivered on September 26, 1932 to Willie Austin and Laura Frances Oakley Williams. Mama Sue was a devout and loving housewife to her husband Ed, whom she has joined after a year’s absence. Today she celebrates he Father’s presence and the reunion of her husband.
She owned and operated Sue’s Beauty Shop for over fifty-five years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Ed; sister, Frances Evelyn Williams. Sue was blessed with three wonderful sons who survive: Edward (Linda) Eaton, Randy “BoBo” (Debbie Jo) Eaton, Mike Eaton; grandchildren: Katie (Jeremy) Pitman, Mary Grace (Justin) Page, Randy Eaton, Jeremy (Jane) Howard; great-grandchildren: Kinley and Blaine Pitman, Kaia and Abegayle Howard; special friends: Peggy Ryan, Bettie Lou Neely, Vivian Mann, Marie Jones, and her precious four legged girl, Martina.

Eva Lois Tatrow, age 91, of 6277 State Street, Garden, Michigan died August 13, 2015 at the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique.
She was born October 27, 1923 in Dekalb County, Tennessee the daughter of Clarence and LuVerna (Bates) Johnson and attended school there. During World War II, she moved to Detroit and worked as a riveter in a bomber factory.
On October 6, 1946 the former Eva Lois Johnson married Robert Kenneth Tatrow in Garden. They made their home in Garden and he preceded her in death on October 10, 1987.
Most important to Lois was the time she spent with her family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, cooking, playing bingo, and going to the casino.
Lois is survived by her sons, “Bucky” (Brenda) Tatrow of Smithville, TN, Kevin (Debbi Wilson) Tatrow of Garden, and Keith Tatrow of Garden; daughters, Laurel (Dennis) Jenkins of Sparta, TN, Shelby (Frank) Lawrence of Smithville, TN, Mary Jo (Corky) Britt of Smithville, TN, and Claudia (Tom) Klink of Garden; daughter-in-law, Debbie Tatrow of Garden; 33 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Cantrell of Smithville, TN and Helen Poss of Tracey City, TN; nieces and nephews; special family friends, Debbie Ansell, Jack Ansell, Franny Ansell and Becky Barks; and her special caregiver, Denise Ansell.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Danny Tatrow, James Tatrow, Deborah Tatrow and Joy Ann Tatrow; and her brother John Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Garden, Michigan. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm, at the funeral home in Garden, with Celebrant Carole Cooper officiating.
Additional services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 3pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, from 10am until the service time at 3pm.
