Ms. Anna Ruth Barnes age 88 of McMinnville passed away Thursday afternoon, October 8, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 22, 1927 to her parents, the late Taylor and Ella West Russell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Barnes, 2 sons, Leverne Barnes and Twain Barnes; sister, Louvella Jones; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leon and Ann Barnes. Ms. Anna Ruth was a faithful member of Mt. Hope The Baptist Church of Christ and was retired from Century/Magnetek. Survivors include 1 daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Billy Ross Rankhorn of McMinnville; 1 daughter-in-law, Janis Stewart Barnes of McMinnville; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan Stewart Barnes and Ashley Chantell (Corey) Kennedy; 1 great-granddaughter, Anna Lynn Kennedy; 2 brothers, Gene (Mava) Russell and Tom (Audrey) Russell both of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday, October 11, 2015 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Frank Randolph, Dwight Knowles, Garry McBride and Chuck Overton officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Mr. Kevin Christopher Barnes age 42 of Smithville, TN, died Wednesday, October 07, 2015. He was born February 26, 1973, in Smithville, TN, was a truck driver with Weaver Transport, was of the Pentecostal faith, and was preceded in death by father Dairl Vanetta, step-father Tiny Barnes, grandparents Luther and Nelda Barnes and George Barnes.
Survivors include his mother Shirl Barnes, a brother Doug Barnes, grandmother Betty Barnes all of Smithville, TN, and former wife Christina Barnes of Morrison, TN. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends also survive.

72 year old James Albert Walden of Alexandria died Monday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Murfreesboro. Born in Dowelltown, he was a Baptist,, a security employee, and a Sergeant 1st Class in the United States Army from 1961-63. Juanita passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Miller was born June 2, 1930 in Putnam County TN to the late Charlie Nash and Dollie Allison Nash. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked for years at Wilson Sporting Goods. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Plain View Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children; Ricky Don Martin (wife Lisa) of Murfreesboro, Linda Harville (husband Jimmy of Lebanon, and Brenda Walters (husband Elton) of Sparta. Juanita is also survived by a brother; Donnell Nash, nine grandchildren; Rhonda Young, Lora Jared, Jody Dailey, Jimbo Dailey, Gail Fish, Jennifer Penley, Jonathan Martin, Curtis Langenback, & Felicia Walters, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, Luke, Isaac & Edward Haney, Jordan Allen, Brittany Dailey, Anthony & Isha Fish, Haley Martin, Gracey & Jacob Penley, Amber Shelley, Shawna Cooper, Nancy Doyle, & Nevaeh Dailey, as well as two great-great grandchildren, Caitlyn Fish & Michale Hyre.
